The Material Handler role is crucial for managing the movement of materials throughout the site, encompassing tasks such as loading and unloading trailers, and transporting raw materials, work-in-process items, and finished goods. This specific position is located in Building 3, operating on a night shift (C Shift) from 11:20 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be able to follow written and oral instruction.

Nice To Haves

3-5+ year’s previous material handling experience.
Solid interpersonal skills, mathematical aptitude, mechanical/technical aptitude and logical problem solving skills.
Skilled in working independently in a safe and timely manner necessary.
Be motivated towards productivity, safety and quality improvements.
Experience leading continuous improvement efforts and knowledgeable about ELS Operating Principles.
Adaptive, flexible, able to handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

Move material to/from raw, WIP, Finished, Shipping, Receiving, and manufacturing areas.
Unload/load trucks/tankers with incoming/outgoing materials.
Verify materials against receiving/shipping documents.
Complete appropriate transactions to document the movement of material within the Inventory Management System.
Complete warehouse and departmental cycles counts and correct discrepancies to support inventory accuracy.
Help manage winding drum and rack inventories.
Pick up and transfer material racks, pallets, and other consumable supplies to/from production areas as required (Raw/Finishing warehouse).
Condense warehouse space and maintain good housekeeping (Raw/Finishing warehouse).
Perform all assignments, duties, and tasks in a safe manner following standard procedures and practices.
Encourage others to adhere to safety practices, policies and procedures.
Correct and/or report all unsafe conditions immediately.
Perform duties to continuously improve quality and productivity.
Maintain a safe, clean work area.
Assist in equipment maintenance activities as directed.
Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate department/shift employees to ensure effective operations.
Lead in the recycling of pallets, cardboard, and scrap materials.
Support all 5S housekeeping activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
