About The Position

The materials handler position will be responsible for the flow of materials and supplies within our manufacturing facility and inventory warehouse.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of materials handling in a warehouse preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience with material transactions in an ERP system preferred
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Production and Processing- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
  • Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Speaking- Talking to others to convey information effectively
  • Coordination- Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions
  • Critical Thinking- Using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Judgement and Decision Making- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to operate in a production-driven environment and perform at the required standards.
  • Sedentary and physical activity requires reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, pulling, carrying, balancing, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing.
  • Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting Requirements: Frequently lifting up to 30 lbs. Infrequently lifting 50 lbs. or more
  • Required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile).
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Examine shipment contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming deliveries.
  • Keep a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
  • Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply
  • Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged goods
  • Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering and staging production materials and supplies where needed.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
  • Perform material transactions within our ERP system as needed
  • Perform monthly cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory
  • Assist teams in quarterly inventory of materials within the plant
  • Put materials into designated location within materials warehouse
