About The Position

As a Material Handler, you’re the backbone of the shop floor—keeping materials moving, organized, and exactly where they need to be. From supplying departments to transporting finished products, you play a critical role in maintaining workflow and ensuring production stays on track. Working closely with inventory control and production teams, you’ll help monitor material levels, organize inventory, and prevent disruptions before they happen. Your attention to detail and coordination keep operations running smoothly from start to finish. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2–4 years of related experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Basic math skills to support accurate measurements and material handling
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to safely operate mobile equipment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard systems
  • Willingness to learn and grow within your role

Responsibilities

  • Keep the shop running smoothly by safely loading and unloading trucks, ensuring materials are received and shipped without disruption.
  • Be the go-to for movement across the floor—delivering the right materials to the right place at the right time to support production.
  • Operate forklifts and skid steers with confidence and care, always prioritizing safety for yourself and your team.
  • Stay one step ahead by learning inventory locations and proactively supplying materials to keep teams working efficiently.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment by managing scrap and waste materials throughout the facility.
  • Take ownership of quality by following GFS Quality Management System (QMS) standards in everything you do.
  • Jump in where needed—supporting teammates and adapting to keep operations moving without delays.
