About The Position

Material Handlers at Converted Products keep everything moving between our warehouse and production floor in a safe manner. Responsible for efficiently and effectively transporting and storing raw materials and finished goods produced on the production lines. Keeps the production lines cleared of finished items to promote machine efficiency. Assigns lot numbers and records item numbers, item quantities, units of measure (UOM) and locations. Material Handler is responsible for multiple tasks in production, shipping and receiving.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 1 year experience in a manufacturing warehouse driving a forklift
  • Good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Must possess accuracy, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with fellow employees at all levels of the organizational structure.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and stressful situations.
  • Possess a professional appearance and attitude in order to portray a positive image for Converted Products, LLC
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to read and understand a ruler down to 1/32 of an inch.
  • Must have math skills for conversions in multiple units of measure.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift with roll clamp attachments
  • Must be able to drive a 26 straight truck.
  • Ability to obtain forklift or PIT certification as designated by Converted Products to safely operate any powered equipment essential to the job function
  • Annual MVR required

Nice To Haves

  • Roll clamp experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct, behavior and actions in accordance with CP core values of Caring, Creativity, Determination, Dependability and Teamwork
  • Material Handler (MH) will be a certified forklift operator.
  • MH will move raw, work in process, and finished goods to and from the warehouse and within the plant.
  • May need to fill in for Receiving Specialist or Warehouse Lead.
  • A MH may need to operate the 26 straight truck. For those Material Handlers who operate the 26 straight truck, a valid Wisconsin drivers license and approved MVR are required
  • Identifies packaging instructions on production orders and packages finished items to meet customer requirements
  • Picking Orders to be processed in production
  • Safely storing material and supplies
  • Records essential product information and assigns lot number to all finished goods.
  • Identifies packaged items by tagging/marking them so that they maintain visibility throughout the warehouse
  • Utilize computerized warehouse management systems (WMS), radio frequency (RF) scanners and barcodes to process production orders and relocate items throughout the warehouse
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the production and warehouse areas.
  • Perform cycle counts on raw and / or finished inventory and participate in all scheduled physical inventories
  • Assist in the training of new employees as directed by leadership team
  • Identify and communicate any safety concerns and report any property damage
  • Perform and document daily forklift (PIT) and equipment inspections
  • Flexibility to train and work in multiple areas
  • Raise any issues or concerns that arise day-to-day work to the Warehouse Lead, Warehouse Manager, Plant Manager, or VP of Production
  • Other duties as assigned
