Material Handler
About The Position
The Material Handler is responsible for both the physical and administrative tasks associated with the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of various materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role involves unpacking and verifying received goods against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining accurate records of these goods, and rejecting any unsatisfactory items. The Material Handler is expected to lift heavy items and may be required to operate a forklift. Additional duties include preparing and maintaining records for merchandise being shipped, calculating and posting weights and shipping charges, and preparing goods for final shipment. The position also involves examining, stocking, and distributing materials to inventory and manufacturing lines, and potentially preparing kitting packages for assembly production. The individual will operate within established standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods, working under a moderate degree of supervision. This role encompasses responsibilities typically associated with shipping and receiving clerks.
