About The Position

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a Material Handler for its Weld department on the 3rd shift. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient handling, movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring that production teams consistently receive the necessary materials to meet their production schedules, while also maintaining accurate inventory records and strictly adhering to all safety protocols. The ideal candidate should possess prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting and be proficient in operating various material handling equipment. This position is vital for maintaining efficient operations and a smooth production flow within the company.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to read work orders, shipping documents, and material specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.

  • Forklift and pallet jack certification

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and products to designated areas.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Ensure materials are delivered to production lines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts as needed.
  • Organize and maintain storage areas to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and operating equipment.
  • Assist in packaging, labeling, and preparing shipments for delivery.
  • Communicate inventory shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Keep work areas clean and free from safety hazards.
