About The Position

As a Material Handler on the 1st Shift at New Flyer, you will be a key player in our manufacturing process, ensuring a seamless flow of materials to support production. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials to various departments, as well as maintaining an organized and efficient work area. A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork is essential in this role. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures, and processes. Operate forklifts, walkie riders, and other material handling equipment to transport parts to the production floor. Set up and organize material storage racks, bins, and carts to prevent damage or loss of materials. Create and maintain drop areas for part deliveries and effectively manage inventory. Assist assembly workers by lifting and moving materials as needed on the production floor. Conduct accurate counts of materials and participate in cycle counts as directed. Report any issues with materials, including damaged or rejected parts, to the leadership team. Follow work direction from department leaders and contribute to team objectives. Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm

Requirements

  • Previous experience in material handling, warehouse, or shipping/receiving roles is essential.
  • Forklift operation experience is required.
  • Consistent work history with no job jumping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items safely.
