About The Position

Hours: 6AM - 6PM, Saturday - Monday Pay Rate: $20.60 per hour + $3.00 shift premium Will be responsible for all material handling needs, primarily picking warehoused parts, and delivering to assembly areas to ensure efficient production. Work closely with production lines to ensure full utilization of people, materials, and equipment to meet customer demand. The Material Handler will be required to achieve company standards for safety, quality, and productivity. Material Handler I Operate a forklift or other equipment to transport materials within the facility Inspect the forklifts daily and follow defined procedures and practices Operate equipment safely and effectively Know the basic functions of the ERP system Material Handler II All Material Handler I responsibilities Use best judgment to resolve issues or suggest solutions Join project teams and occasionally lead parts of projects Solve basic to moderately complex problems Material Handler III All Material Handler I & II responsibilities Cross-train in different areas as needed Train new employees or employees transitioning from other areas Access information within the ERP system and perform transactions as needed Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment and/or designs to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity Over the 60 plus years of Generac’s history, we’ve been dedicated to energy innovation. Requirements

  • Can operate or learn to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
  • Can work in a team environment and communicate clearly
  • Can identify and resolve basic problems
  • One to two years’ experience in material handling
  • Cross-trained in multiple operations
  • Can train other employees on established processes
  • Two years’ experience in material handling and are forklift certified
  • Can actively solve problems
  • Display attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in root cause problem solving (5 Whys, 8D, PDCA, etc.)
  • Can effectively train other employees on work instructions
  • Experience using SAP or an equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365)
