This position is responsible for organizing, supervising and directing the Materials Handling group engaged in receiving, issuing and delivering supplies and equipment. Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following: Manage, hire, lead, motivate and train the Material Handling Department in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Exhibit confidence in self and staff. Resolve interdepartmental issues, accept feedback and give recognition. Schedule and expedite open material requisitions. Follow up on deliveries with the Warehouse, Planning and Purchasing Departments. Ensure that receipt and distribution of product occurs in an accurate and timely manner. Work with other department personnel, such as Production, Quality and Engineering to rectify defective or unacceptable goods. Arrange for disposal of surplus material. Use the following software programs when performing this job: Shop Floor Control, CAD, MRP II, Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Ensure personnel comply with departmental policies and procedures to support the manufacturing process. Perform all other duties as assigned.
