About The Position

The Material Handler Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This position ensures that all materials are handled safely and accurately, supporting production schedules and inventory management. The supervisor leads a team of material handlers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to maintain high operational standards. They collaborate closely with other departments such as procurement, production, and logistics to optimize workflow and resolve any material-related issues. Ultimately, the role is essential for maintaining a smooth supply chain process that supports overall business objectives and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or supervisory training preferred.
  • Proven experience in materials movement, truck loading, heavy-duty assembly, logistic scheduling, and crane operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material flow into weld and into assembly
  • Both processes are similar and require parts from steel processing, machining, purchased, and stock
  • In addition, the assembly team receives parts from pain
  • Kitting
  • Organize and label parts from steel processing onto skids and transact to rack across from weld
  • Issue purchased and stock parts from receiving/inventory to completed skids
  • Organize kitted material in high bay for large weldments
  • Weld
  • Move completed kits to weld table as directed by weld leadership both verbally and through the material request queue in Epicor
  • Move completed weldments to paint
  • Paint
  • Transact, prep, paint, and transact
  • Assembly
  • Pick stock and purchased parts to the assembly cell based on the production schedule
  • Following up with assembly leads on missing parts, late releases, etc.
