About The Position

Key Responsibilities Material Movement & Coordination Oversee daily material handling operations, including forklift and overhead crane usage. Ensure timely delivery of materials to production areas to prevent delays. Monitor equipment availability and coordinate resources across shifts and departments. Team Leadership & Supervision Direct, coach, and evaluate the material handling team. Manage scheduling, staffing, and workload assignments to ensure full coverage. Conduct training on equipment operation, safety procedures, and standard work practices. Communication & Collaboration Serve as the primary point of contact between material handling and other production supervisors. Maintain proactive communication to anticipate and resolve material flow issues. Provide regular updates on material movement status and challenges. Safety & Compliance Enforce safe operating procedures for forklifts, cranes, and all handling equipment. Monitor team adherence to OSHA and company safety standards. Lead team meeting around safety, participate in incident investigations, and administer corrective actions as required. Operational Excellence Identify opportunities to improve material flow efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing operations (supervisory experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of forklift and overhead crane operation and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Requires working in conditions of varying heat and cold and where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push and pull throughout the shift.
  • Minimum of a high school education or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA certification(s) and/or forklift/crane operator certification a plus.
  • Trade School completion (preferred).
