About The Position

The Material Handler Lead – 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 3:30PM-12:00 AM) is responsible for leading warehouse and distribution activities during the second shift, supporting domestic and international customer orders. This role serves as a key holder and on-shift point of contact, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient execution of receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, staging, and loading activities. The Lead will provide day-to-day direction to material handlers, support training, and help maintain operational continuity during the shift.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull more using appropriate tools (drum dolly, pallet jack, etc.).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, with demonstrated leadership or lead experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • Strong work history and reliability.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team during off-shift hours.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong team focus.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site lead and key holder for the 2nd shift, supporting warehouse operations and ensuring adherence to procedures and schedules.
  • Safely operate a forklift to assist with receiving, storing, picking, staging, and loading inventory.
  • Coordinate and prioritize daily work activities for the shift to meet shipping and operational demands.
  • Prepare and load customer orders for shipment; receive, store, and replenish inventory as needed.
  • Complete required SAP and scan gun transactions accurately and timely.
  • Conduct and support inventory counts and cycle counts as requested.
  • Support onboarding and training of new material handlers and provide guidance to team members during the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, act as a safety role model, and address issues as they arise.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation for all transactions.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
  • Communicate shift handoffs, issues, and status updates to supervisors or management as needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
