About The Position

The Material Handler II supports production and logistics by efficiently handling, moving, and loading materials, while also serving as a resource and informal leader within the team. This role is responsible for maintaining warehouse accuracy, fulfilling parts requests promptly, and ensuring safe and effective truck loading—all of which are essential to production success. The position requires a high level of safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of requests while prioritizing effectively. The individual must be capable of working independently, collaboratively within a diverse team, and stepping into leadership responsibilities as needed. This role also contributes to continuous improvement efforts in productivity, quality, effectiveness, and safety.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years years of forklift experience required
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Computer classes and/or production experience is helpful, as is general MRP systems knowledge
  • Ability to obtain/ maintain a forklift certification is
  • Ability to obtain/ maintain a Comb i-Lift certification is preferred
  • Strong proficiency in multiple logistics functions including receiving, loading, and inventory control.
  • Ability to operate advanced equipment such as Man Up Pickers at elevated heights.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to support and train new team members effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Read, sort and process complete orders.
  • Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Ability to read and understand visual and written assembly instructions on a computer screen to retrieve parts from a pick list.
  • Assist with the upkeep of warehouse inventory and with the loading and unloading trucks.
  • Issue parts to the lines as needed and operate a forklift to move/deliver parts to the line in a timely manner .
  • Operate power hand tools, scanners, computers, and work with various other equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and report mechanical issues.
  • Maintain clean and organized docks and warehouse aisles.
  • Participate in cross-training across logistics functions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following safety rules and participating in reporting of unsafe conditions or instances.
  • Notify the Supervisor of any mechanical or defective material issues.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding parts, inventory, and safety concerns.
  • Support training of new team members.
  • Identify and communicate process improvements.
  • Operate advanced equipment
  • Promote a culture of safety and integrity by consistently following all safety protocols, reporting hazards, and engaging in training and initiatives.
