Summary: Prepares, converges, and moves raw materials and rework to support production by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Grinds rework and records quantity ground into grinding logbook.
  • Sifts rework and records material sifted into sifting logbook.
  • Pulverizes rework and records material pulverized into pulverizing logbook.
  • Unloads railcars and records all pertinent information in the “Brock Silo” program in the computer.
  • Pumps liquids into the liquid tanks and records this activity in the liquid pumping logbook.
  • Records rework added to silo in the silo-filling logbook.
  • Records rework removed from the silo in the silo-unloading logbook.
  • Loads materials for outbound shipments onto trucks and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to mixing lines.
  • Records location of rework movement, either adding or removing rework, for inventory purposes.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  • Removes samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to designated area.
  • Cleans work area, machines, and equipment to maintain working area.
  • Opens up equipment for cleaning purposes..
  • Operates industrial fork truck or hand truck to assist in loading or moving raw materials and rework.
  • Monitors and empties, when full, grinder and pulverizer dust collectors.
  • Reads, comprehends, and performs lockout procedure.
  • Comprehends all Raw Materials’ work instructions, written procedures, and where this information is located.
