Sorts and prepares materials for shipment and / or recycling operations. Actively participates in post-retail recycling of product. Utilizes forklift and/or walk behind stacker to load and unload materials.
Requirements
- Must have dependable transportation.
- Able to use pallet jack, two‐wheel dollies and four-wheel carts.
- Able to sort and pack material for safe storage or transport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Power Industrial Truck certification.
Responsibilities
- Assisting unloading or loading trucks.
- Sorts merchandise into containers for storage, processing, distribution, and recycling.
- Operates baler machine to prepare specified material for distribution.
- Maintains accurate record keeping of recycling output.
- Maintains a clean and safe working area.
- Visually inspects equipment prior to operating to determine if equipment is safe to operate.
- Utilizes safety checklists to maintain accurate record keeping of equipment safety inspections.
- Obtains and maintains license to operate forklift and walk behind stacker.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the above duties, responsibilities, and equipment operation through evaluation.
- Assists with basic periodical maintenance of industrial equipment.
- Complies with all agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
