About The Position

Are you a skilled (Powered Equipment Operator) looking to grow your career in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler II at our Olive Branch, MS distribution center! As a MATERIAL HANDLER II, this role will safely and efficiently handle materials throughout the warehouse — picking orders using powered equipment such as reach trucks and pallet jacks. You’ll play a key part in maintaining productivity and ensuring our operations run smoothly.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Requires prior forklift certification with 6 months previous warehouse experience.
  • Previous shipping/receiving/material handling experience.
  • Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner.
  • Able to lift parts weighing more than (50) fifty pounds (assistance when needed) and to work in bending, squatting, and standing positions for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasionally reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, banding, stretching, bending, and standing frequently.
  • Must be able to work quickly meeting productivity and quality standards.
  • Promote an environment where individual contribution (s) toward quality and cost improvements are maximized.
  • Must pass forklift certifications and requirements to operate forklifts.
  • Must pass a non-DOT physical exam
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous RF equipment to move product.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for moving product within the warehouse by means of motorized equipment, such as sit-down forklifts and/or electric pallet riders.
  • Responsible to stock incoming items, to replenish flow racks, and pick orders with use of RF equipment
  • Create cartons and labels prior to shipping.
  • Maintain productivity minimum standards with a sense of urgency.
  • Adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Replenish orders as necessary to support operation.
  • Supply cardboard boxes and bags for departments.
  • Maintain safe actions on and off the equipment in compliance with all safety rules/regulations required by Emerson, federal, state and local provisions.
  • Meet department quality, attendance and productivity requirements.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties to maintain clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
