Material Handler I (2nd Shift)
About The Position
The Material Handler will provide shipping and warehousing expertise to support in all areas of the Switchboard Team including, but not limited to, assembly, order picking, and shipping and receiving parts, with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards. Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed. Receive and process material kitting orders promptly to execute production schedules Complete inventory transactions and ensure accuracy Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment Receive and process incoming raw materials and ensure the inventory process is followed correctly Prepare finished products for final shipment including packaging, documentation, and loading, and ensure on-time delivery Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), order pickers, automatic pallet wrappers and pallet jack Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of forklift operation experience (sit-down/standup).
- Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of El Paso, TX will be considered.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to lift. push, and pull up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to squat and reach above the head with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to physically operate a forklift with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of warehouse experience in an industrial environment.
- Two years or more of forklift operation experience (sit-down/standup).
- Knowledge of AS400, VISTA, and MAPICS systems.
- Knowledge of Lean and continuous process improvements.
