Material Handler/Forklift Operator
About The Position
Nyco Products is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Driver/Warehouse Associate for a 1st Shift position in Countryside, IL. The ideal candidate is highly accurate and accountable, holding themselves to high standards. This role involves picking, staging, and loading completed orders, performing inventory counts, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. A critical aspect of the position is adhering to all company safety and health policies. The individual will be responsible for operating industrial forklifts and ancillary equipment, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and walkie-riders, ensuring proper use and care of company equipment. The position is primarily based at the Shipping location but may require occasional work at the manufacturing location depending on workload. Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training on stand up forklift as well as on a reach truck, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with operating industrial forklift and ancillary equipment
- Must have stand-up forklift and reach truck experience
- Experience working in a production/manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Accuracy and accountability
- Proactive, detailed, and tenacious
Responsibilities
- Picking, staging and loading completed orders
- Performing inventory counts as requested by the purchasing and production management to assist in maintaining an accurate inventory
- Performing order picking of product to prepare for order shipment
- Performing work assigned in accordance with company production standards and rates
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area as established by plant policy
- Adhering to all company safety and health policies
- Operating industrial forklift and ancillary equipment in the securing and moving of materials for storage or use
- Utilizing company equipment with proper use and care
- Notifying maintenance of any equipment needs to assure safe operation
