About The Position

The material handler receiving position is responsible for the incoming of material, managing inventory, and maintaining plant organization. This role also involves operating as a Class A driver. The position requires ensuring a safe and quality food product by taking responsibility for the work area and reporting any food safety and quality related problems to management and the QA department.

Requirements

Required education high school diploma or GED; or 1 to 3 months’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Class A driver’s license
Lift Truck Certification (walk behind and rider)
Ability to print and speak simple English sentences
Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables

Responsibilities

Load/unload trucks
Verify incoming materials
Data entry
Plant organization
Participate month end inventory
Maintain accurate inventory counts in AS/400
Manage materials in multiple locations
Release materials from vendors
Issue purchase orders
Cycle count materials
Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product
Report all food safety and quality related problems to your manager and to the QA department to initiate immediate action
