About The Position

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2019, we’re delivering low-cost and large-scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have. The Sorting Specialist is a hands-on role supporting battery sorting operations at our Storey County location. This position plays a key role in keeping production running smoothly by moving materials, receiving deliveries, and preparing finished items for shipment. In this role, you will work directly on the battery sorting line, handling materials as they move into, through, and out of automated sorting equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Requirements

  • Complete a respiratory fit test and medical evaluation and wear a fitted respirator for the full shift
  • Stand for extended periods (more than 80% of the shift)
  • Climb stairs and ladders and work at heights
  • Stoop, bend, push, pull and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Operate and train on equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lb

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work in a warehouse or around continuously operating equipment is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with required PPE, including respirator use
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on safe work practices
  • Capable of accurately identifying and sorting different types of materials
  • Proficient in performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and consistency
  • Forklift experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated compliance with written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

  • Handle, move, and sort live batteries and associated packaging using forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Support automated sorting equipment by feeding materials, monitoring operations, and correcting issues as needed
  • Identify and escalate safety, quality, or process concerns
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE, including respirators
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
