The Role The Material Flow Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and uninterrupted material flow from suppliers through receiving and into Body, Paint, and General Assembly. This role partners closely with suppliers, logistics providers, and plant operations to maintain inventory accuracy, resolve material issues, and support production schedules while adhering to internal controls and quality standards. The position plays a critical role in identifying and resolving material flow disruptions, maintaining plant material records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within Lean Materials Strategies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of material department operations, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional plant relationships
  • Experience with inventory control processes and material flow systems
  • Analytical skills to resolve moderately complex material and inventory issues
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with suppliers, logistics partners, and plant operations teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or assembly plant environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or material flow optimization principles
  • Experience supporting audits, internal controls, or ISO-related activities

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily material flow activities to support production schedules across Body, Paint, and General Assembly
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and plant material data; investigate discrepancies, gains/losses, and part history issues
  • Monitor and audit pull systems, part buffers, and min/max conditions; resolve floor-level material issues as they arise
  • Interface with suppliers, LLPs, logistics partners, and plant teams to resolve material, packaging, labeling, and non‑conformance issues
  • Support material flow during source changes and manage SPPS issuance and follow-up
  • Evaluate Concerned Parts Reports and manage Alarm 2 and Alarm 5 follow-up within the 5 Alarm process
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, ISO standards, and receiving process audits
  • Participate in investigations related to premium transportation, carrier claims, obsolescence, and Customer Care & Aftersales part orders
