About The Position

The part-time Material Coordinator reviews master schedule and/or shortage report to notify Operations and Materials Management stakeholders of potential problems. Coordinate parts, issues, and resolution with a variety of organizations such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Fabrication, and other areas to work towards minimizing production problems. Work with multiple organizations to determine root cause analysis of discrepancies and/or shortages and take the action necessary to maintain a scheduled flow of parts. Reallocate and/or adjust systems to reflect compliant paperwork for unitized parts. For assigned manufacturing department, coordinate equipment, tooling, and shop materials accountability issues with a variety of organizations such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Fulfillment, Tooling, Fabrication, and other areas to work towards minimizing production problems. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to assure availability of equipment, tooling, and materials to support manufacturing requirements. Maintain accountability of capital asset equipment charged to the shop, list property numbers and locations, track non-capital equipment, locate missing equipment, and coordinate maintenance and repair as required. Support the identification and documentation of shop related chronic items using SAT or other means to continually improve processes. Requirements

  • High School diploma or higher with equivalent education required. Associates degree desired.
  • Material Coordinator, Shipping and Receiving or Property Management experience required.
  • Experience in managing Government/Military property desired.
  • Eligible and obtain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
  • Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex words and technical documents/diagrams.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.
  • Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under equipment.
  • Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
  • Must be able to perform Domestic travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree desired.
  • Experience in managing Government/Military property desired.
  • Property Management Certification desired.
  • An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain records, charts, reports and files established to determine and report the status of assignments.
  • Interpret master planning and scheduling to facilitate the flow of parts, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate production information pertinent to assignment between shops.
  • Note errors in planning and make corrective suggestions.
  • Research catalogs, drawings, government stock indexes and internal records to locate possible substitutions for required items.
  • Arrange for local purchase and pick-up of critical items not available through normal channels to meet schedules.
  • Operate typical shop equipment to provide movement of all materials.
  • Recommend methods and procedures which will improve the functioning of the work area.
  • Operate any and all types of information systems required to perform assigned task.
  • Other duties as identified and assigned.
