At the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, MD, SA-TECH supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) of the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department. We are currently looking to hire a Material Coordinator to perform aspects of technical supply management work. Supply management work is related to the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities and/or the assembly and delivery of aircraft component kits. This work usually is complex and can cross commodity areas or functions, and varies in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. In this role, you will review production schedules and confer with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. You will also arrange for in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules and coordinate with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departments. You'll also be responsible for examining material delivered to production departments to verify if type specified. As a Material Coordinator, you may monitor and control movement of material and parts along conveyor systems using remote-control panel boards and compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using an adding machine. You'll be responsible for compiling reports of quantity and type of material on hand, moving or transporting material from one department to another using hand or industrial trucks and for compiling perpetual production records in order to locate material in the process of production, using manual or computerized systems. You'll also maintain employee records.
