Requirements

  • Has developed skills to perform day-to-day receiving and material handling activities.
  • Understands how the assigned duties relate to others in the team and how the team integrates with inventory control, production, and vendor management.
  • Recognizes and solves typical problems that can occur in own work area without supervisory approval; evaluates and selects solutions from established options.
  • Impacts the quality and accuracy of own work, ensuring timely material flow and inventory integrity.
  • Uses communication skills for exchange of information with vendors, drivers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and inspects inbound shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders; verifies quantities and condition before acceptance.
  • Updates inventory systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) to record receipts and maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Performs material handling tasks, including unloading trucks, staging materials, and transferring items to designated storage or production areas.
  • Conducts cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy; identifies discrepancies and processes nonconforming material according to established procedures.
  • Under direction from management, prevents accumulation of excess or obsolete stock; initiates rework, transfer, or scrap actions as needed.
  • Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes safely and in compliance with all safety standards.
  • Coordinates internal material flow, ensuring timely delivery to production lines or cleanroom environments.
  • May monitor, update, and maintain shortage reports including review of work orders.
  • Trains team members on receiving and material handling processes when required.
  • Adheres to documented business processes and safety protocols at all times.
  • Employees may be assigned to work in environments with a heavier focus on inventory management activities. Performs transactions in SAP or other inventory systems.
