About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Material Control & Warehouse Specialist who thrives where precision meets purpose. This role is the backbone of our operations — ensuring that every bolt, circuit, and component moves exactly where it needs to be, when it needs to be there. You’ll coordinate daily warehouse and material control activities, maintaining order in a fast-moving environment that demands accountability, organization, and initiative. This isn’t a job for the passive – it’s for the individual who takes ownership, solves problems before they become issues, and keeps the mission moving forward.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate inventory and documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational discipline, and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and teamwork mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for handling and storing materials (including hazardous items).
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical warehouse duties up to 8 hours per day.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
  • Awareness and responsiveness to safety signals and environmental conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting production or engineering programs in aerospace, defense, or technical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of material traceability, controlled storage, and export compliance procedures.
  • Exposure to lean or 5S warehouse practices.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and components, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and required documentation.
  • Enter receipts and transactions accurately into ERP/MRP systems (CostPoint experience preferred).
  • Maintain and organize inventory through cycle counts, kitting, labeling, and stock put-away.
  • Fulfill material requisitions promptly to support production and engineering teams.
  • Prepare, package, and process outbound shipments with complete and compliant documentation.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Support logistics coordination for materials moving between suppliers, subcontractors, and internal sites.
  • Assist with implementation of lean practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Communicate effectively across purchasing, production, and quality teams to keep operations aligned.
