Material Control Specialist The BRP Marine Propulsion Systems facility in Spruce Pine, North Carolina is a full-service lost foam plant which uses innovative processes to create aluminum castings from polystyrene bead. Requirements

  • Use of hands and ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Able to effectively follow written and verbal directions
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Visual acuity to identify parts
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of production experience with increasing levels of responsibility and aptitude
  • Forklift certification
  • Effective working knowledge of MS Office, e-mail systems, and other relevant computer applications
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP software (SAP a plus)
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong organization skills
  • The ability to effectively analyze and problem-solve
  • Works well with others in a team setting
  • Adaptability when schedules, parts, and related expectations change
  • Inclination to process improvement
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Material Handling Fundamentals
  • Awareness of and following established safety rules
  • Knowledge of standardized practice and procedures
  • Forklift operation: loading and unloading of trucks at the BRP warehouse and production facility
  • Transporting product and tooling from and to BRP warehouse
  • Movement of unfinished and finished parts for staging and storage
  • Operating using lean manufacturing principles and following 5S standards
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Required related paperwork and notation
  • Scheduling trucks for deliveries
  • Entering needed shipping information into SAP including BOL, invoice, and other necessary data
  • Preparing product for overseas and cross country shipment
  • Assisting production in understanding customer part needs
  • Ensuring timely material flow
  • Conducting material audits
  • Preparing related reports as requested
  • Cycle counting as needed
