About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, qualified individual to join our purchasing team as a Document Control Specialist. As part of our team, you will oversee the storage, organization, and disbursal of records and documentation. You would monitor and ensure compliance with the American Iron and Steel Act (AIS) and produce the required compliance documentation required to satisfy said requirements for the Caldwell client government funding observing legal guidelines and best practices and will administer the data management processes of our centralized library, respond to requests for information (RFIs), and verify document completeness and format requirements. This position is critical to smooth operations within our corporate infrastructure. Begin familiarizing at ground level to gain a working knowledge of products and product material compliance legislation. Coordinate with company personnel to identify Material Test Reports (MTR) documentation that requires migration from a supplier of applicable steel products to electronic document management systems, and work with the team to coordinate the control and consistency. Coordinate regular supplier inquiries for the purchasing dept as part of implementation strategy and document location. Execute and manage data retention and control policy processes. Track document revision and version controls and maintain project data archives. Validate document data. Manage integration in information to ensure data is appropriately stored, tagged, and easy to find, and complies with all applicable compliance regulations, and internal policies. Distribute American Iron and Steel (AIS)/Buy American (BA) documents timely and accurately per request, or timed sequence. Manage document distribution matrices including hard and electronic copies and transmittal records. Participate in the continuous improvement of work procedures and document flow processes. Conduct in‐house material compliance inspections. Provide specific guidance to Sales and other functions regarding material compliance and provide training when applicable on current and future legislation. Be the point of contact regarding material compliance for our products.

Requirements

  • Technical or scientific courses in materials science, chemistry or comparable classes or certificate.
  • 0‐2 years experience.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate’s degree in public or business administration, library science or archives, records management, a related field or records management‐related work a plus.
