About The Position

As the Matching Specialist you will process HHS/JCS referrals for foster care placement matches. This position is responsible to provide timely matches for each match category. Utilizing the RRTS database, this staff enters timely documentation, following matching policies, procedures and protocols, providing high level customer service. Obtains thorough and complete referral information to assure optimal matches. Accepts referrals, conducting match searches and communicating with other matching staff, the RRTS Matching Manager, the Resource Families and the referring worker. Provides respectful, timely and professional communication (written and spoken) to customers (HHS, JCS, RRTS and others) per contract and RRTS protocols. Utilizes the RRTS database and local staff feedback to locate the optimal match for each child referred. Provides one or more names of Resource Families to HHS/JCS that meets the identified referral criteria. Documents family contacts in a timely manner (as they occur) as per matching protocols. Manages referral assignments, monitoring time frames for completion and modifying work strategies to meet such timeframes. Alerts RRTS Matching Manager of barriers to completing the referrals in a timely manner. Follows troubleshooting procedures when matches are potentially late. Immediately contacts the Matching Supervisor when HHS/JCS are not satisfied or have concerns. Provides on-call rotation as required. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of child welfare experience.
  • Effective problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in a MS environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in foster or adoption services and/or a Bachelor’s degree in a social service related field of study is preferred.
