About The Position

Under the direction of the Outpatient Clinical Director (or designee) performs counseling/treatment services utilizing Best Practices Guidelines. The position is distinguished from other counselor positions by virtue of not having a license in social work or as a psychological examiner or a professional counselor in Tennessee.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work or other Master’s degree eligible for licensure for clinical social worker or professional counselor.
  • Carey Counseling Center, Inc. expects all Master’s level therapists to pursue licensure in the time frame designated by the health related board specific to their degree.
  • Once licensed, the expectation is to become a Mandatory Prescreening Agent and to train for crisis supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a mental health setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides appropriate clinical services to a client population, age range or diagnostic grouping based upon Best Practices Guidelines and other specified tasks for which the intake therapist has been assigned.
  • Attends meetings and activities as assigned or designated by the Outpatient Clinical Director (such as staff meetings, COE collaborative commitments, court attendance, etc).
  • Prepares and maintains all medical/clinical records in accordance with Center quality assurance policies and procedures. Writes a minimum of 90% of notes collaboratively with clients.
  • Consistently meets productivity expectation that 65% of the standard work week is spent in billable client services.
  • Conducts at least one clinical group during the appraisal year.
  • Participates, at a minimum, in one hour of clinical supervision on a weekly basis, or as otherwise directed by the Center.
  • Participates in required training to maintain credentialing status.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop quality treatment plans.
  • Demonstrates the ability to develop a comprehensive safety/crisis plan.
  • Is consistently on time for work and follows Center policies regarding requesting leave from work.
  • Follows all guidelines outlined in the CAREY Policies and Procedures Manual including Corporate Compliance Policies.
  • Is expected to have regular and predictable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
