About The Position

The Master Scheduler is responsible for collaborating with the Scheduling and Planning team to develop, schedule, and coordinate the production of products throughout the production cycle. This role ensures the creation of production plans and jobs so that materials are available to maintain production, while also providing feedback to management. The position requires regular interaction with the Scheduling team, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse, Production, Quality Control, Process Development, and Quality Assurance to review batch status, prioritize production orders, and manage any potential disruptions to the schedule.

Requirements

  • Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Familiarity with production and supply chain terminology.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Excel, Access, Word, Project), with advanced skills preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining focus on individual tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflicts and foster cooperation among teams and individuals.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and adapt to a variety of changing situations under pressure.
  • Capability to assess and implement process improvements as production conditions evolve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • At least five years of experience in multi-product manufacturing production planning, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Planning Team to create and maintain the master production schedule.
  • Establish and update production jobs in the ERP system to support the master schedule, ensuring the team has visibility into material readiness.
  • Coordinate with the cross-functional Ready-To-Execute (RTE) team to confirm that products and resources are available and scheduled to meet production and timeline goals.
  • Collaborate with support departments, including Engineering and MS&T, to arrange non-commercial production time requests, minimizing their impact on commercial product output.
  • Conduct change assessments and implement related actions for the master schedule promptly.
  • Lead weekly Operations Planning meetings to communicate schedule changes and confirm upcoming production plans.
  • Support Stability team requests and coordinate efforts to ensure stability requirements for manufactured products are met.
  • Communicate production schedule changes proactively to all relevant teams, including escalation details when necessary.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities with the maintenance team and production management to support daily manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain open communication with department schedulers to focus on achieving RTE objectives.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned and perform additional duties as directed.
