About The Position

UF Health Shands Rehab Services is dedicated to providing excellent patient care to individuals throughout north central Florida. Through comprehensive rehabilitation programs, we hope to create a safe and comfortable environment that empowers individuals to manage their care independently, return to a functional lifestyle and improve their quality of life. We are dedicated to treating our patients with compassion, creativity, respect and confidentiality. Our rehab centers accomplish this with close working relationships between our referring physicians, therapists, support staff, University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions and the University of Florida Athletics Program. Our therapists provide rehabilitation services and education to patients. We offer continuing education, journal clubs, staff mentoring and the ability to be involved with student clinical education and our UF Health accredited residency programs in Sports and Orthopedics. UF Health Rehab at Haile Plantation is an outpatient orthopedic clinic that provides physical and massage therapy services to patients throughout their lifespan. Our staff treats multiple specialty populations such as vestibular/concussion, running medicine, overhead athletes, post-op/trauma, geriatrics and aging athletes. Education is a hallmark of our clinic, as we work with students of various levels, from high school observers, undergrad, doctoral students of physical therapy as well as medical students to train and enhance the visibility of our field. Our staff members are involved at local institutions to provide education to students, including the UF DPT Program as well as Santa Fe College PTA Program. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of massage required and and/or certified by appropriate national professional organization(s)
  • Two years previous clinical experience preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in a broad range of massage therapy services and settings, in particular therapeutic massage and myofascial techniques
  • Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Florida

Responsibilities

  • In this role, the Massage Therapist will provide massage therapy services and assist with the provision of therapy services.
  • In addition, will contribute to the education and professional development of other healthcare providers and students in the field of rehabilitation.
