About The Position

The Massage Therapist provides therapeutic massage services to patients in a hospital or clinical setting, supporting pain management, relaxation, and overall patient wellness. The therapist collaborates with healthcare teams to enhance patient care, improve mobility, and contribute to positive clinical outcomes. Provide therapeutic massage services to patients, tailored to individual medical conditions and needs. Perform patient assessments, including evaluating mobility, pain levels, and contraindications, in collaboration with nursing and medical staff. Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans to promote comfort, relaxation, and rehabilitation. Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes. Educate patients and families on self-care techniques, stretches, and relaxation strategies as appropriate. Adhere strictly to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Promote patient-centered care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and respect at all times. Participate in hospital wellness programs, patient education initiatives, or staff wellness initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • Licensed or certified Massage Therapist
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage modalities applicable to clinical populations.
  • Strong understanding of contraindications and precautions for patients with medical conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, or with medically complex patients.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic massage techniques for pain management, post-surgical recovery, or palliative care.
  • Ability to document treatments in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Post-partum and oncology experience preferred
