About The Position

Job Summary: We are seeking high-energy, enthusiastic individuals to represent the NY Mets as handlers for our beloved mascots. Ideal candidates work well in a fast-paced environment and are able to engage, improvise, and interact with fans of all ages. Mascots will attend various events both on and off-site, to promote the NY Mets and create a fun and dynamic experience at all their appearances. Mascot handlers act as the mascot performers guide, ensuring their safety at all times. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Assisting mascot performers in and out of costume, guiding the mascot during events, ensuring their safety and appropriate interaction with fans. Communicate with the point of contact at each appearance the day of the event and being the voice of the mascot(s) as needed. Capturing high-quality photos and videos at mascot appearances and promptly sending them to management for review and use in future promotional materials. Managing any issues or emergencies that may arise during the mascot's performance, including ensuring the mascot performers safety at all times and deescalating situations when necessary. Actively participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of marketing strategies. Exhibiting flexibility and availability for last-minute schedule changes, holidays, and weekends. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a similar role or in customer service is preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to handle unexpected situations professionally and effectively. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, late nights, holidays, and weekends. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
