Marketing Strategy & Operations Lead

About The Position

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a Marketing Strategy & Operations Lead who is part program manager, part AI builder. You’ll own the operational infrastructure of Fivetran’s marketing team: the rhythm of the business and the marketing system of record. But what makes this role different is the how. You’ll approach every operational challenge with an AI-first mindset, constantly looking for ways to automate, accelerate, and scale what a lean marketing team can deliver. This is a role for someone who is endlessly curious and resourceful. One day you’re establishing a new operating rhythm with cross functional partners and the next you’re building a Google Apps Script to auto-generate weekly status reports from Slack threads. You’re the person who sees a manual process and immediately thinks “I can automate that.” You’ll work across every marketing sub-function and sit at the center of how the team communicates, coordinates, and operates. You’ll be the operational engine that makes sure the team’s plans actually get executed. This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our Oakland or Denver offices. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years in strategy & operations, program management, or a chief-of-staff-adjacent role at a B2B SaaS company
  • AI builder, not just AI user — you’ve created automations, workflows, or internal tools using Claude, ChatGPT, Google Apps Script, Zapier, Make, or similar. You see AI as the unlock for doing 10x more with the same team
  • Systems thinker — you see the connections between processes and build infrastructure that scales. You love designing systems of record, templates, naming conventions, and documentation that others actually use
  • Google Workspace power user — advanced Sheets (including Apps Script), Slides, and Docs. You have an opinion on how a marketing org should structure its workspace and you’re not afraid to implement it
  • Strong program management instincts — you can manage multiple concurrent initiatives, track dependencies across teams, and keep things moving without being asked
  • Curiosity and agency — you’re a self-starter who finds problems before they’re assigned and builds solutions before they’re requested. You thrive in ambiguity and don’t need a playbook to get started

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting C-level executives in a chief of staff or ops lead capacity
  • Background building Google Apps Script automations, Slack bots, or internal productivity tools
  • Experience running AI enablement or training programs for non-technical teams
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack (Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake) or experience in the data/analytics industry
  • Exposure to Jira, Asana, Height, or similar tools for marketing program management
  • Management consulting, BizOps, or corporate strategy background

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the marketing system of record: a centralized, connected hub for programs, campaigns, calendars, vendor trackers, and key documents — the single source of truth the team relies on
  • Design and operationalize the content supply chain: intake and prioritization, production tracking, review/approval workflows, and distribution across channels
  • Partner with integrated program management and occasionally lead a cross functional program; tracking milestones, dependencies, and deliverables for cross-functional initiatives
  • Design and deploy AI-powered workflows to automate high-frequency ops tasks
  • Own the Google Workspace strategy for marketing: template standardization, shared drive architecture, naming conventions, and automation via Google Apps Script and Slack integrations
  • Build and maintain a library of AI prompts, custom skills, and lightweight automations tailored to marketing use cases (board prep, campaign briefs, competitive summaries, comms drafts)
  • Champion AI adoption within marketing: evangelize tools like Claude, run workshops, partner with L&D on enablement, and track adoption/impact across the team
  • Support Head of Strat and Ops on the marketing rhythm of the business: weekly business reviews (WBRs), monthly all-hands (Power Surge), quarterly reviews, and cross-functional syncs
  • Serve as the operational connective tissue across Marketing, Sales Ops, Finance, and HR

Benefits

  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance
  • Generous paid time-off policy (PTO), plus paid sick time, inclusive parental leave policy, holidays, and volunteer days off
  • RSU stock grants
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Company virtual happy hours, free food, and fun team-building activities
  • Monthly cell phone stipend
  • Access to an innovative mental health support platform that offers personalized care and resources in areas such as: therapy, coaching, and self-guided mindfulness exercises for all covered employees and their covered dependents.
