About The Position

Merchants Bank is seeking a Marketing Strategist. This on-site position can be worked out of any Merchants Bank location in MN and WI with office space available. This position will strategize and create marketing strategies (within approved guidelines) that will drive engagement, foster strong relationships, and support the Merchants Bank brand. Duties include taking ownership of the social media content and channels, email content, copyrighting and event planning. Will create and distribute reports, monitor online listings and reviews, work with audio and video production, and assist with research projects. Must be innovative, well organized, a problem solver, and able to multi-tasking and prioritize effectively. Requires a degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience. Must have excellent communication skills and copywriting experience preferred. Must be proficient in the administration of social medial channels and have event planning experience. Previous exposure to or experience with audio and video scripting, coaching, recording, editing, Adobe Premiere Rush and Adobe Premiere Pro preferred. Previous exposure to or experience with design and editing programs like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere or Adobe Acrobat desired. Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Previous event planning experience.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions within authority.
  • Has strong time management skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Regular and dependable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Strategize and create social media content (within compliance approved guidelines) for all corporate channels, including content calendar, research, copywriting and design concepts.
  • Serve as primary Merchants Bank brand voice by responding to social media messages and comments, according to policy guidelines.
  • Record and distribute quarterly social media reports by channel.
  • Monitor and track data to optimize performance and suggest improvements for social media content and strategy.
  • Responsible for distribution of online leads to bankers, tracking and quarterly reporting.
  • Create and distribute reports for marketing campaigns, specific online statistics, email campaigns and other data trend analysis.
  • Monitor and manage online listings, online reviews and Google alerts to ensure consistent and accurate brand reputation.
  • Lead for audio and video production that aligns with brand goals, including editing and distribution on appropriate channels with emphasis on social media.
  • Develop and manage strategy and copy for corporate emails, Examples include eNewsletters, internal communications, and template formatting.
  • Provide content research and copywriting for blogs, press releases, social posts and other marketing assets.
  • Leverage internal data resources to increase customer engagement and wallet share digitally.
  • Serve as the main marketing contact for special community projects and events for branches, Investment Advisors and our leasing subsidiary (MBEF).
  • Establish a marketing project/community event calendar by communicating with branches.
  • Detail as appropriate on digital channels.
  • Request, capture and organize event photos and talent authorization forms for marketing use.
  • Attend events as appropriate.
  • Participate in and lead creative brainstorming, offering innovative insight.
  • Proofread all marketing materials for accuracy and proper grammar.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on cohesive campaign planning and strategy across all channels.
  • Assist with research projects including testing, writing and conducting surveys, analyzing results, new product launches and bank acquisitions.
  • Complete compliance and product program assignments as needed.
  • Greet internal and external customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude toward challenges with a solution-based mindset.
