About The Position

The Sausage Project is a new kind of sausage brand, crafted by chefs, made with added premium white meat chicken, and packed with bold, elevated flavor. It focuses on high-quality, lean chicken in craveable links made for the modern shopper. The brand is backed by DFG Ventures, a Los Angeles-based venture studio behind cult-favorite brands like goop kitchen and Cravings by Chrissy Teigen. DFG (The Sausage Project) is a Partner of Sigma, but a separate Company. As the brand expands its retail footprint and invests in social, PR, and sampling, they are looking for a Marketing Specialist who is excited to help bring the brand to life on shelf and online. The team is small and scrappy, and the ideal candidate should be comfortable wearing many hats. This is a hands-on, high-exposure role at the center of the marketing efforts. You will help manage the growing social community, connect the dots between the internal team and PR agency, and support activations sampling. It is perfect for someone early in their career who is eager to learn and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are looking for a creative marketer who can help bring brand moments to life while staying flexible and keeping multiple projects, timelines, and details on track.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, PR, social, events, or CPG.
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
  • Clear, confident communicator; comfortable working with agencies and partners and speaking in front of investors and stakeholders.
  • Scrappy, proactive, and excited to jump in wherever needed and work collaboratively with a small startup team.
  • Comfortable on-site at events and behind the camera capturing content.
  • Passion for food, culture, and building brands people love.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Director of Digital: Assist with content management and distribution across organic social channels.
  • Manage Community Engagement: Handle daily social engagement and respond to DMs and comments in a timely, on-brand voice to build brand loyalty.
  • Customer Support: Handle customer support inquiries across social and email, escalating when needed. Identify and report recurring questions, product feedback, and meaningful insights to the wider team.
  • Content Creation: Pitch new content ideas, identify emerging social trends, support quarterly photoshoots, and capture engaging behind-the-scenes content. Help source new content creators.
  • Influencer Identification & Vetting: Proactively identify and vet potential influencer partners who align with our brand and target consumer.
  • Agency Liaison: Serve as the primary day-to-day contact between our internal team and our PR agency, leading efforts and ensuring brand initiatives move forward smoothly and on time.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines, press requests, brand assets, and other campaign deliverables. Coordinate all touch points internally and with partner company.
  • Logistics: Coordinate media mailers, product drops, and influencer gifting, responsible for all logistics and inventory management of media kits and seasonal influencer kits.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate logistics for sampling, experiential, and community activations.
  • Inventory Management: Manage product inventory, shipping, and logistical coordination for sampling programs.
