About The Position

We're looking for a dynamic and versatile Marketing Specialist to help share the story of HudsonAlpha's innovative work in genomics. In this role, you'll combine creativity and strategy to develop engaging content, manage digital marketing efforts, and coordinate projects that bring our mission to life. Working closely with teams across the Institute, you'll plan and implement multi-channel campaigns, track results, and find new ways to inspire awareness, engagement, and conversions. The ideal candidate is a curious, collaborative, and data-informed communicator who's excited to make an impact in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, social media management, digital marketing, or a related function, preferably in a B2B organization in scientific or life sciences setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with digital marketing tools, analytics, and automation platforms (LinkedIn, Google Ads, Pardot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting and the ability to translate technical information into engaging content.
  • Experience with campaign reporting and explaining marketing performance metrics and ROI.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical orientation with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Passion for science communication and the mission of HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies and campaigns to advance HudsonAlpha's business goals.
  • Optimize processes, content, and lead generation to increase visibility and engagement among target audiences.
  • Coordinate messaging and graphic elements across digital and print materials.
  • Manage content development for web pages, email campaigns, promotional pieces, and social media, ensuring alignment with brand standards.
  • Build and schedule emails, including list segmentation, drip automations, and deployment through Pardot (or similar platforms).
  • Create and maintain a monthly marketing content calendar, and contribute new ideas to the institute-wide content calendar.
  • Assist with the creation, editing, and management of landing page content for campaigns and initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed marketing and campaign reports, analyzing performance metrics, lead generation, and related sales data.
  • Implement and monitor tracking mechanisms (e.g., insight tags, tracking pixels, or UTMs) to ensure all external campaigns are properly measured and attributed.
  • Develop dashboards and visual reports that clearly connect marketing initiatives to measurable outcomes and ROI.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analyses, and trend forecasting to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Support sales and business development teams by reviewing lead data, funnel metrics, and account insights to strengthen targeting and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, events, and promotional activities, managing schedules, logistics, and contact lists.
  • Maintain both digital and physical inventories of promotional materials and ensure timely replenishment and distribution.
  • Interview internal and external stakeholders to gather quotes, testimonials, and case studies for marketing materials.
  • Manage the Institute's marketing automation platform (e.g., Pardot), including list maintenance, segmentation, email execution, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate campaign documentation, ensuring lists, tracking codes, and analytics data are properly configured and integrated.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with internal teams, including sales, communications, and finance, as well as with contractors, agencies, and vendors.
  • Help manage the marketing department's budget, track expenses, and process vendor invoices.
  • Participate in workshops, research, and seminars to stay informed of current marketing best practices and tools.
  • Share insights and tactics with team members to enhance collective performance.
  • Support organizational goals by performing additional duties as assigned and seeking opportunities to add value.
