About The Position

Van Horn Automotive Group, an Employee Owned Company in Sheboygan, has an outstanding opportunity for a professional and eager part time Marketing & Public Relations Intern to assist the Public Relations Coordinator with company events. Are you a Marketing student currently enrolled in college eager for an opportunity to gain experience in the Marketing field? Are you detail oriented with a strong work ethic? We want you on our team! This position will be 400 hours over the course of the summer starting in May. Family Born. Employee Owned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university for a marketing degree
  • Strong desire to learn and develop marketing and PR skills.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficiency at MS Office
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms.
  • Flexible schedule, with some night and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and executing events, including dealership grand openings, sponsorship activations, exhibitor shows, and community initiatives (e.g., Golf Outings, Road America, Mill Street Festival, etc.).
  • Coordinate logistics for event setup and teardown.
  • Recruit volunteers and workers for events.
  • Source vehicles for event displays and secure necessary insurance.
  • Build donation packages for charitable events and raffle drawings.
  • Capture event content (photos/videos) and contribute to social media posts.
  • Support Van Horn Automotive Group's PR initiatives by building and maintaining relationships with community representatives, media contacts, and corporate partners.
  • Assist with PR efforts, including event promotion and content creation.
  • Search news sites and social media for PR mentions and quantify impact.
  • Gather and submit information for dealership applications and awards.
  • Oversee employee ticket giveaways, notify staff of complimentary tickets, and facilitate distribution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
