Carolina Senior Marketing is looking for a Web Developer Intern this summer who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in real production environments. This is a working internship, ideal for someone who already has foundational web skills and can pick things up quickly with minimal oversight. You’ll be part of a small marketing team and will contribute directly to live websites used by real clients. Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience working with WordPress (Elementor experience is a plus, but not required)
  • Understanding of responsive web design, including how to ensure websites function and display properly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Comfortable following design mockups and translating them into functional websites
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or errors
  • Reliable, organized, and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision
  • Clear written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn independently and problem-solve when documentation or training is limited

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Shopify
  • Experience using Zapier automation systems
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript and/or PHP
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Experience with Yoast SEO or SEO best practices
  • Prior experience launching websites or working in a live production environment
  • Familiarity with Figma and/or Adobe XD

Responsibilities

  • Build simple WordPress websites from provided design mockups (Figma or Adobe XD)
  • Add and update pages on existing WordPress sites
  • Make content and styling edits using Elementor and/or custom HTML/CSS
  • Assist with website launches, including final checks and post-launch updates
  • Troubleshoot website issues and bugs (performance, layout, plugin conflicts, etc.)
  • Work on live client websites, making updates carefully and accurately
  • Research plugins, tools, and solutions to improve site functionality and efficiency
  • Assist with basic SEO optimizations (Yoast SEO, on-page best practices, site structure)
  • Support website hosting tasks through WP Engine and GoDaddy
  • Provide limited email support/troubleshooting through GoDaddy when needed
  • Collaborate with the Multimedia Manager and VP of Marketing to prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Communicate clearly about progress, blockers, and questions
