About the position

Doubleday, an imprint of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group and home to some of the most iconic authors in the world including Dan Brown, Bonnie Garmus, Percival Everett, David Grann, Hampton Sides, Margaret Atwood, and Colson Whitehead, is seeking a Marketing Manager to execute title-level fiction and non-fiction marketing campaigns. This role reports to Doubleday's Sr. Marketing Director and will collaborate closely with the Doubleday Editorial, and Publicity teams as well as colleagues across KDPG marketing and PRH sales. The ideal candidate will be passionate about books and well-versed in social media. They will be skilled in crafting and executing innovative marketing strategies to launch new books and authors and build audiences for established writers.

Responsibilities

  • Ideate, develop, and execute innovative and data-driven marketing plans across social media, paid media, influencer campaigns, partnerships and email marketing.
  • Clearly communicate marketing plans and strategies for authors and their agents as well as to in-house teams, including publishing, editorial, and sales departments.
  • Partner with the design team to create compelling assets for campaigns, including digital content, email marketing materials, social media graphics, and more.
  • Conduct thorough post-mortem analysis of each campaign, sharing insights and recommendations for future marketing opportunities and improvements.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices in trade paperback publishing and emerging trends that could drive backlist sales.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in book marketing.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong creative thinking and strategic planning abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive and exceptionally organized, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience designing marketing assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva preferred.
