We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team this summer and contribute to improving our marketing events and social media positioning. Position Overview: This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, product design, employee engagement, and marketing materials. The Marketing Intern will work closely shadowing the marketing & communications team members, while also collaborating with various departments across the company to plan and execute events, support the operations of Vision’s Employee Storefront, contribute competitive research and content for social media, and innovative ideas on relevant trends. This role truly supports event logistics, as well as internal and external engagements. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital media, or related fields. You will be joined by other interns in different departments of the business, where you will have the opportunity to learn and grow as a cohort.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with strong organizational skills, creativity, teamwork, and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Event Support: Shadow and support the logistics, start to finish, of employee engagement events such as our large-scale Regional Vision Days, and all other internal or external events and activities during the summer months. These engagement event categories include: Customer external events Employee internal events Charity events Channel partner events Employee Resource Group Events
  • Trade Show Support: Shadow and support the logistics of all trade shows during the summer months. Trade show support focuses on, run of show coordination, registration logistics, internal representative coordination, vendor communications, branded material creation specific to the vertical or show, onsite setup and breakdown, and ensuring professional Vision presence at all trade shows is up to standard and compliance.
  • Content Support: Support the creation of social media and event graphics Conduct competitive research on social media trends and make recommendations for inclusion in a content calendar Shadow the creation of digital campaigns, video production, etc.
  • Employee Storefront: Shadow the management of Vision’s online storefront, support the operational, financial, and creative functions that ensure the store runs efficiently and remains aligned with Vision’s brand standards and merchandise products across the board.
  • Budget Management: Budgeting and negotiating item costs with the vendor, tracking expenses, and ensuring merchandise, shipping, and portal costs stay within allocated budgets.
  • Branded Merchandise Creation: Designing and developing new products that reflect brand identity, coordinating with all department leads to ensure accurate representation and compliance of preferred items, coordinating with vendors, reviewing proofs, and approving production.
  • Invoicing & Product Tracking: Auditing vendor invoices, monitoring all purchase activity, and ensuring accurate billing and coding for internal storefront department purchasers.
  • Customer & Internal Communications: Providing clear updates on products within the storefront portal, order status, timelines, and branding kit compliance for requested items. As well as partnering with internal teams to communicate general trainings on storefront purchasing and usage, if needed, and all storefront flipbook updates are provided via KM.
  • Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, forecasting item demands, coordinating reorders, managing email direct orders, and ensuring accurate counts and fulfillment readiness.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with team members across different departments. Communicate findings and recommendations effectively. Present findings to managers.
  • Other Duties: Assist with other administrative or operational tasks as needed.
