About The Position

The UVA Career Center seeks a Marketing Intern to support high-impact, student-facing initiatives that connect the University’s career ecosystem across Grounds. This role offers hands-on experience with integrated marketing, campus-wide event strategy, and employer engagement. The intern will contribute to the planning and execution of marketing efforts tied to the Career Center’s most visible programs, including career fairs and employer partnerships. This role is well-suited for students with an interest in marketing, communications, design, media, or business, who are eager to contribute to work that reaches a broad audience while developing transferable, professional skills.

Requirements

  • Experience: None

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting email, short-form copy, or promotional messaging
  • Experience with or interest in design tools (Canva preferred; Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
  • Basic experience with video editing (e.g., trimming, captioning, formatting for social or digital screens)
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple timelines and deliverables
  • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional partners and receiving feedback
  • Ability to balance creativity with brand guidelines and strategic objectives

Responsibilities

  • Support the marketing strategy for career fairs, including campaign cadence, timelines, and onsite signage and wayfinding, in collaboration with campus partners
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of career fair maps and logistical marketing assets
  • Contribute to sponsor and employer marketing, helping communicate partner value across digital and physical channels
  • Draft and refine email communications and marketing copy for students, employers, and campus stakeholders
  • Create design assets aligned with UVA brand standards, including digital signage, promotional materials, and social content
  • Support basic video editing for use across web, social, and event environments
