About The Position

This 12–16 week paid internship, running May through August/September, offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and motivated Marketing Intern to gain hands-on experience within our three-person marketing team. We are seeking a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or Business who is eager to apply classroom knowledge to impactful, real-world marketing projects. As an intern, you will gain practical experience in content creation, graphic design, marketing strategy, and community involvement. The ideal candidate will support various marketing functions, including creating content for social media platforms, assisting with marketing communications, and contributing to credit union market research.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree (2-3 years of college education) with a concentration in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or Business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with various marketing channels, including social media and email marketing.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/job location(s) and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver service to our members and team members that is in alignment with WMCU’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Support event planning efforts by coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and providing on-site assistance.
  • Assist in creating social media content across all WMCU platforms, including tracking social media analytics and trends.
  • Participate in market research activities and report as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to execute projects and assess the impact of projects on the organization and membership.
  • Manage projects effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on various community initiatives.
  • Write member-focused blogging content and maintain blogging creative.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop fresh ideas for campaigns, content series, and member-facing communications.
  • May involve occasional travel to any of our WMCU locations using the company vehicle.
