About The Position

Are you interested in joining a team of go-getters dedicated to serving and uplifting the community? Join Detroit Pistons team and our mission to empower our community! Our Summer 2026 Internship Program is a 10-week program crafted to provide college students and recent graduates with a once in a lifetime opportunity within the sports and entertainment industry. We designed our program to deliver real life, hands-on experience that can be readily applied to future challenges and professional pursuits. We are seeking a team member with a positive, upbeat attitude that can connect with a diverse population, and we are excited to meet you!

Requirements

  • College students entering their junior or senior year – with a major/minor or course work in related field.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic creative who is passionate about both their craft and the sports and entertainment industry
  • Hard-working, self-improvers who are hungry, proactive, and possess a positive attitude.
  • Availability of 40 hours per week, unless otherwise agreed upon with their supervisor. Some interns must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
  • Ability to commit to the full 10-week assignment.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center and Little Caesars Arena.
  • Ability to provide your own housing throughout the duration of the internship.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Photoshop, graphic design and HTML experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and execution of off-season retail initiatives, brand activations and events.
  • Assist in placing creative orders & participate in all marketing and design brainstorms for upcoming retail collaborations and launches.
  • Work on research for future brand projects to help develop new activations, collaborations and retail products.
  • Assist the Marketing Operations team with projects that include support for our digital marketing assets inclusive of e-marketing (email and SMS), paid social, campaign management, reporting and web/mobile app needs.
  • Support Motor City Rivals, Motor City Cruise, and Pistons Academy youth basketball brands.
  • Work with creative teams to develop for off-season ideas around marketing campaigns.
  • Additional responsibilities may include assisting with traditional and digital media planning for the Detroit Pistons 2026-27 season along with onsite/offsite event activation.
