Marketing Event Specialist Location: New Jersey (remote) Ready to make a difference? The Marketing Specialist will be part of the energy account services team and will work on planning, development, and implementation of marketing and advertising strategies and communications activities to support our energy efficiency efforts with a utility in NJ. The account services team manages all aspects of marketing to include advertising, strategic planning, research, social media, events, outreach, and partnerships. To implement marketing campaigns, the team works with a 150-person creative and paid media services group. We help our clients and communities use less energy, save money, and help the environment through the development, implementation and refinement of marketing and outreach initiatives. We are looking for someone who is as passionate about our work as we are and has the skills and attitude to be successful. The right candidate should be a marketing generalist who knows how to work with experts, including paid media and creative teams to achieve our goals. This position will be based in NJ, but will be a work-from-home position. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related majors. (applicants can substitute one year of related experience for one year of education)
  • 2+ years of working experience in marketing, advertising, client management, or related field; experience working in consumer marketing at an advertising agency is a plus.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the planning, development, and implementation of marketing events, sponsorships, and advertising strategies to promote energy efficiency programs.
  • Develop and manage a strategic marketing event calendar through client collaboration and market research.
  • Coordinate event logistics including staffing, subcontractor management, and use of online event management platforms.
  • Develop training resources and onboard event staff and brand ambassadors.
  • Contribute to annual marketing plans by helping define strategic priorities, target audiences, and campaign themes.
  • Manage creative projects including client reviews for new materials across both digital and traditional channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to ensure campaign alignment with program goals and branding standards.
  • Support data analysis and performance tracking for marketing strategies and develop and present reporting dashboards and overviews for event results.
  • Serve as a liaison between ICF and utility clients such as PSE&G, ensuring responsive communication and strategic alignment.
  • Participate in recurring meetings with subcontractors, partners, and clients to review progress and resolve issues.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful execution.
  • Minimal local travel is required (less than 20%)
