Requirements

  • Experience in marketing; and ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Exercise sound judgment and tact as it relates to interactions with consumers, SCHEELS associates and the community
  • Strong oral/ written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external audiences
  • Professional in appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work assigned schedule which may include varied hours, evening, weekends and holidays; some travel, including overnight stays
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Roles are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and direct local community outreach opportunities
  • Serve as the scheduling manager to ensure that SCHEELS’ associates are present at relevant community events
  • Serve as a representative for SCHEELS at community events by upholding the highest standards in conduct and appearance
  • Mange donor requests
  • Identify local media opportunities via print, TV and radio
  • Evaluate effectiveness of marketing initiatives
  • Have a clear understanding of the SCHEELS brand and culture
  • Manage and enhance pre-print promotions within the store
  • Determine and direct programs including budget, advertising and staff needs
  • Identify opportunities to share the SCHEELS story
  • Evaluate all Marketing endeavors
  • Create annual strategy of events that promote and align with the store’s goals and creates customer and store iteration
  • Execute events to drive sales, traffic and community good-will
  • Serve as the store liaison with Corporate Marketing Office to maximize and align marketing strategies
