About The Position

We are a specialty insurance company in start-up mode, building a modern, agile, and client-focused business. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a hands-on, strategic Director of Marketing to lead the development of our marketing function. This role offers the opportunity to build marketing capabilities from the ground up, establish our brand in the market, and drive the strategy that will fuel our growth. The Director of Marketing will be the company’s first marketing hire, responsible for setting strategy while executing critical marketing initiatives. This individual will define our brand identity, tone, and voice, ensuring consistent and differentiated positioning in the marketplace. The Director will partner with corporate marketing and external agencies but must also be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and acting as a one-person department at the outset. As the company grows, this leader will have the opportunity to build and manage a marketing team. Oversee email marketing and nurture programs to support business development and relationship building. Produce marketing collateral, thought leadership content, and product marketing content. Work with corporate marketing and external agencies to deliver creative assets, media, and campaigns. Analytics & Growth Define marketing KPIs and report on performance to leadership. Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and optimize campaign results. Identify new opportunities to expand marketing reach and impact. Lead ership & Future Growth Serve as the company’s marketing expert and advisor to leadership. Build out marketing infrastructure, processes, and vendor relationships. Recruit, manage, and mentor a marketing team as the function expands.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a track record of developing and executing integrated strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in defining brand strategy, tone, and voice in a B2B or professional services context.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in email marketing and digital channels.
  • B2B marketing experience required; insurance or financial services industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong project management and communication skills; ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Experience leading teams or managing direct reports; comfortable growing into a people leadership role.
