About The Position

The Marketing Coordinator supports the International Institute of St. Louis' marketing, communications, and event operations, working closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure brand consistency, audience engagement, and successful event execution. This hybrid position blends creative design and storytelling with hands-on coordination of major community events. The ideal candidate has strong visual design and communication skills, understands audience engagement, and enjoys both creative work and logistical coordination. This role contributes to cohesive messaging, efficient event execution, and alignment with the Institute's mission of creating a more welcoming St. Louis.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing social media and digital marketing platforms.
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate events.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work productively in a multicultural environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, design, event management, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or event coordination
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires reliable transportation for local travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Video and photography skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Asana, and Constant Contact is a plus.
  • Experience working with multicultural or nonprofit organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design marketing materials for print and digital media, including flyers, brochures, social media graphics, and event signage.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials and platforms.
  • Create content for newsletters, social media, and the organization's website.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos for storytelling and promotion.
  • Support marketing campaigns with design and creative assets, ensuring a cohesive visual identity.
  • Support planning and execution of organizational events including Festival of Nations, Ubuntu Gala, and donor or partner events.
  • Manage vendor, sponsor, and participant communications.
  • Assist with on-site logistics including setup, volunteer management, signage, and photography.
  • Track and manage event timelines, applications, and invoices.
  • Coordinate post-event follow-up, reporting, and data collection.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of internal communications such as staff newsletters, intranet updates, and announcements.
  • Support staff engagement by maintaining internal branding and recognition materials.
  • Help ensure consistent messaging between departments by coordinating internal updates and aligning content.
  • Assist in developing and scheduling social media content across all platforms.
  • Collaborate on messaging calendars to align with organizational priorities and campaigns.
  • Support online engagement and monitor activity for community interaction.
  • Assist in developing narratives and visual assets for public and donor communications.
  • Maintain organized marketing and event data in Salesforce, Asana, and shared drives.
  • Assist with invoicing, tracking payments, and reconciling budgets for events and campaigns.
  • Coordinate internal calendars and support reporting and documentation efforts.
