Internship Overview The Marketing & Brand Communications Intern will support Flagstop Car Wash’s creative and digital marketing efforts, with a primary focus on social media content creation and eLearning development. In this role, you’ll help tell the Flagstop story through engaging video, digital content, and internal training materials, while gaining exposure to broader brand, partnership, and community initiatives. This internship is ideal for a student looking to build a strong professional portfolio in social media marketing, video editing, and digital learning design, while working alongside a collaborative, fast-paced marketing team. You’ll gain: A strong portfolio featuring social media videos, branded content, and eLearning modules used by real teams across the company Hands-on video editing experience creating short-form content for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels Practical experience in eLearning design, including mobile-friendly training and internal communications A deeper understanding of brand storytelling within a multi-location company Exposure to sports partnerships and community marketing, including collaborations with local organizations Professional collaboration experience, working cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and site leadership Career-ready skills in content strategy, digital communication, and creative execution

Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, PR, or a related field.
  • Video & Design Skills: Experience with video editing and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or Canva.
  • Social Media Savvy: Strong interest in social media trends, especially short-form video.
  • Creative Portfolio: Examples of video, social, or design work that demonstrate clean visuals, storytelling, and consistent branding.

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Script, film, and edit engaging social media content, including short-form video for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Video Editing: Edit branded video content for social media, internal communications, and training materials.
  • Brand Storytelling: Support day-to-day social media execution that builds community connection and brand awareness
  • eLearning Development: Help design and update mobile-friendly micro-learning modules to support training for field teams.
  • Internal Messaging: Create clear, visually engaging communications that support onboarding, education, and employee engagement
  • Visual Assets: Assist with signage, flyers, and digital assets that support the guest experience across Flagstop locations.
  • Site Sales Support: Contribute to branded toolkits that help site teams promote memberships, fundraisers, and fleet programs.
  • Web & App Content: Support updates to website and app content, particularly community-focused storytelling
  • Sports & Sponsorships: Gain exposure to partnership execution with organizations like VCU, the Richmond Spiders, and the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
  • Community Campaigns: Assist with local fundraising and community engagement initiatives
