About The Position

Serving Long Islanders for more than 50 years, CN Guidance & Counseling Services is a leading behavioral health nonprofit agency serving Nassau and Suffolk County residents and their families to overcome mental health and substance use challenges. Our agency has grown to reach more than 30,000 people each year through our 60+ programs, and we are seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern to support our social media, public relations, and related marketing & communications efforts.

Requirements

  • Junior and Senior student status or Graduate-level student.
  • Experience with social media marketing, online engagement, verbal communication, organization, professionalism, and customer focus preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior industry experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe or other graphic design programs preferred.
  • Experience with public relations concepts and practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and develops public relations plans and activities, including press releases and media advisories/engagement.
  • Assists with the company's social media accounts and posts content.
  • Brainstorms marketing campaign ideas and helps develop content/materials
  • Monitor various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
  • Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
  • Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
  • Provide suggestions to management for improving customer experience on social platforms and internal processes.
  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
  • Assists in creating performance reports.
  • Identify and implement quality improvement trainings and activities as part of professional development goals
  • Complete QI Training during onboarding and participate in QI refresher training as needed.

  • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Be able to attend agency functions onsite, included but not limited to agency fundraising events and Staff Day.
